Resources for GRA Families
The school requests that students bring packed lunches containing meals that your child is able to open and eat within the time provided. Students can purchase a small lunch milk for $0.35. A microwave is accessible for items that need to be heated. Each Friday hot lunch is available for students for $3.00. The lunch includes a main dish (rotating weekly between pizza, pasta or sandwich), fruit, vegetable, and dessert. Parents can pay for lunch and milk at the office. A statement is sent home periodically providing information on your child's balance.
The teachers at Grande Ronde Academy are committed to their students' education and realize the importance of communicating and partnering with parents in this endeavor. To facilitate communication, weekly packets are sent home with students on Tuesday; they contain official school communications, student work from the previous week and detailed communication from the teacher about the upcoming week. Communication also occurs through parent/teacher conferencing at the end of the first and third trimesters. Our teachers maintain open lines of communication and are available as questions and concerns from parents may arise.
Grande Ronde Academy loves your children and strives to provide a safe environment for them. We would like your assistance with morning drop-off by asking that you drive slowly in areas around the school. Students are dismissed to class from the Sanctuary area at 8:00 a.m. If your child arrives to school after 8:15 a.m.; the doors will be locked, and they will need to ring the buzzer for admittance.
Students are released from school at 3:00 p.m. When picking your child up, please wait in the designated lines behind the school starting at 2:55 p.m. For safety, we ask that parents of children in our younger grades park in the lines closest to the playground.
Many families arrange to carpool; there is no official transportation offered through the school. Parents who are in need of after school pickup and an option for extended childcare may choose to connect with Kid's Club.
Grande Ronde Academy has a variety of opportunities for parents and families to volunteer; we encourage you to visit the PTF Page and search for ways to serve with your time and talents. If you have a talent that is not highlighted, please talk with school staff to see how GRA could be blessed with your service.
The State of Oregon requires that we post the immunization statistics for Union County and our school. If you have questions or concerns please contact the GRA office and/or the Public Health Department.
